If your organization has changed the way you make decisions, share information or engage with your community and employees, this is your chance to tell us (and the world) about it. We’re looking for real-world examples of success, but we also want to know about the journey you and your organization took to get there – especially the obstacles and failures you had to overcome along the way.
To enter, submit your case study, which will then be posted publicly for comment and also voting. Vendors and agencies are welcome to submit client case studies as long as they have permission. All final winners will be decided by Altimeter Group.
Awards will be given in eleven categories – nine industries, one for non-profits/government, and one for small/medium-sized businesses.
The Criteria
There are four major sections to the case study submission:
1. Long description (500 words or less). Describe an example of open leadership where the organization enabled better, more open relationships with either customers and/or employees. Include specific examples of the use of social technology enabled more open information sharing and/or decision making.*
2. Leadership (500 words or less). Describe how a person(s) affected the outcome of this program. This can be an individual's initiative, a supportive executive, or person on the front lines.
3. Impact (500 words or less). How did this program add value to the organization? Impact can be quantitative or qualitative, but there needs to be proven impact. Example: % of employees engaging with customers increased from x to y over the last six months.
4. What have you learned (500 word or less). Describe the journey the organization took, especially how you overcame the obstacles and failures along the way.
In addition, there is a Short Description (100 words or less). This is a summary of your submission. You will also be able to include a URL as well as upload materials such as photos, videos or presentations.
The rules are simple:
1. The submission deadline is Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:00 pm PST (note: deadline was extended).
2. All submissions will be visible to the public and available for comment and voting immediately after they are posted. We reserve the right to remove submissions that are inappropriate, obscene, or violate copyrights.
3. Altimeter Group will choose the winners in each of the ten categories.
4. Preference will be given to submissions that demonstrate tangible value to the organization. The value does not need to be financial, but there must be proven impact. Example: Percentage of employees engaging with customers increased from x to y over the last six months.
5. Please submit only case studies from your own company, or in the case of agencies and vendors, from a client (with their permission).
6. Winners will be announced at Altimeter’s Rise of Social Commerce industry event on October 6, 2010 in Palo Alto, California. One winner and up to three honorable mentions will be named in each category. We reserve the right to name no winner in a category if there are no qualified submissions.
